I purchased a used soft box from Chuck Rubin in Louisville. His store is a great place to purchase all the “extras” and even better deals on used lenses, strobes, stands, bags and well everything. My softbox is a umbrella type meant for strobes. It’s portable and seems to work good.
I set up the softbox and figure I would start with a black background (Low Key?) photo. I don’t have a remote triger so I had to get up, hit the button sit down over and over. It’s not hard just time consuming.
I’m not sure which one it best and I sure don’t know why. I don’t have a modeling lamp and it’s hard to get the rembrandt or loop lighting pattern correct in the dark by yourself. Here are a few of myself.
