I managed to visit this event twice, this time I “focused” on people. It’s a lot of pictures, please remember to check the other pages or pictures.
We went to the Sportsdrome speedway in Jeffersonville Indiana this weekend. They had front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and elite winged figure 8 races. It’s truly amazing to see the skill these guys have for timing and quite frankly the unbridled daredevil streak. Anyway, I took a boat load of pictures, but I’m only posing the tilt shift versions of this as they are more interesting, at least to me.
The Kentucky State fair is this week. I stopped with some friends and the intent was strictly for beer and some photos. It was a much nicer fair than I was expecting! It had a lot of music, wide variety of food and it was clean with a safe atmosphere. Prices were not crazy and the weather was not super hot. I did lug around quite a bit of hardware and it was all after dark, however I think it was worth it. It’s worth the wait in traffic, go visit it. Quite a few photos, please browse a while.
Well… I decided to make a DIY tilt shift lens. It seems to work however it’s not perfect. I’ll still need to look into a better option for attaching it. I have big plans for this. Not sure exactly what the solution will be, below are some images from my first go around with it. Noting special. More to come later on! Thanks for looking.
I recently had the opportunity to take the kids up in a small cessna. I wanted to take some aerial photos of Louisville and figured they could fly and I would take the pics. I knew it would not be super clear out, however it was a lot more hazy than I was expecting. I’ll need to go back up later in the year after the weather has changed a bit.
The pilot (Jordan) was very nice and entertaining, I would recommend this to anyone, Cardinal Wings was great.
I have more pictures but these are the ones I’m posting :-)
I made a few 360 degree panoramas during the 4th of July Holidays. I took the four kids and stuck them in a special panorama. These panoramas are 20 degrees apart and at 17mm they had 1/4 of the shot overlap on each side. Each kid is in the same end photo quite a few times. I use Hugin for stitching and some pre and post work in Lightroom.
The below are large pictures, it will take a bit……
I had the honor to photograph the MS Bike for the cure 2010 event this year. This is a sponsor funded donation bike ride from Louisville to Frankfort and then completing in Lexington KY. This Two day event was a great time and everyone involved had a blast! Below are my photos from the event and if you want high resolution copies just ask ! (steve@spwhite.com)
While visiting Nashville, we ate dinner at a restaurant that was an Aquarium. The food was ok, nothing stellar, but the price premium was worth it as the Aquarium piece was really nice. This is in the mall that is next to the Opryland hotel Hotel and has a few other “theme” restaurants in it as well. Anyway it’s good to go to once.
